The Navy SEAL Challenge returns to the Georgia Tech Campus Recreation Complex (CRC) on October 4, 2017. The CRC will continue its partnership with the Navy this fall and host actual Navy SEALS at the event. The challenge will focus primarily on three of the five dimensions of well-being: social, emotional, and physical. It takes resiliency and confidence to compete with our nation’s elite group of military personnel. This year, will you make the cut?

This is an HLP (Healthy Lifestyle Programs) wide event that will challenge the physical well-being of all participants through a rigorous course of physical fitness activities. Participants will strengthen their social well-being through building comradery at each of the stations with the friends they bring and the new friends they will meet. The emotional well-being of participants is tested while pushing themselves to their limits in what is considered one of the most difficult PST (physical screening tests) in the nation.

Navy SEAL stands for sea, land and air, and SEALs are prepared for situations across those environments. The Navy SEAL physical screening test includes push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, a 500-meter swim, and a 1.5-mile run. Participants are not required to complete all five events, but there are incentives for those that do. An hour and a half is given to complete all five events.

If you finish all five stations your name is entered in a raffle to win one of the following prizes: Beatz headphones, an Amazon Echo Dot, a soft-sided Yeti cooler, a Yeti tumbler, a Georgia Tech themed corn hole set, or tickets to this year’s Georgia Tech vs. Georgia game. The top male and female that compete in all five stations will win an Amazon Echo, and their name will be engraved on a plaque that will be displayed in the CRC trophy case for members and guests of the CRC to see. The first 200 people to complete one event will receive a free t-shirt. There will also be Navy swag distributed at each of the station.
