The Campus Recreation Complex (CRC) is bringing back wellness walks for Georgia Institute of Technology faculty and staff. Come join the fun this summer!

Faculty and staff wellness walks are beginner friendly three to five mile guided hikes conducted at a leisurely pace. These walks are scheduled close to Atlanta so participants can get up, get out, and get home before lunch on Saturday. There will be three wellness walks this summer, including treks to Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, Sweetwater Creek State Park, and Red Top Mountain State Park. Each walk begins at 7:30 a.m. and costs $10 per person.

The June 10 hike will take place minutes from downtown at Sweetwater Creek State Park. Join the CRC staff along wooded trails that follow a spirited stream to the ruins of the New Manchester Manufacturing Company, a textile mill burned during the Civil War. Enjoy unique flora and fauna including ferns, amphibians, wild azaleas, and reptiles.

The Red Top Mountain State Park hike will take place on June 24. Connect with the natural beauty of Lake Allatoona and explore the iron mining tradition and history of the Etowah Valley.

The final hike will take place at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park on July 8. If you are an early riser, the group will meet for breakfast at Mountain Biscuit Company at 7 a.m. Meet the rest of the group at the base of Little Kennesaw for a trek over the smaller mountain then up to the top of Big Kennesaw.
