The GIT FIT Program (Georgia Institute of Technology Fitness Program) offers an opportunity to learn life-long skills, increase fitness levels, and just have fun! We offer over 80 non-credit classes spanning from martial arts to golf to personal training and much more. Our mission is to provide the Georgia Tech community with opportunities to begin or continue a healthy lifestyle that will last well into the future. In addition to classes, GIT FIT also provides personal training, massage therapy, as well as seminars and special events throughout the year focused on health education and wellness.

Hydrostatic Body Fat Testing

Until now, this extremely accurate method was only available at a few universities, at cost of over $150. Now, it is affordable and available to you. 

Location: Campus Recreation Center
Date: Monday, February 20, 2017
Time: 3:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Price: $25 for students and $35 for non-students


  • Bring a bathing suit. The water is heated between 89 and 94 degrees and filtered.
  • Bring a towel (you will get completely wet).
  • Don't eat a large meal two hours before the test.

Your analysis will include a custom 4 page report showing:

  • Your body fat & lean mass percentage
  • Your long term  health prognosis
  • What your Body Fat Percentages should be for optimal health
  • How much fat, if any, you need to lose to reach your goal
  • An accurate reading on your metabolism
  • Personal Caloric intake & expenditure chart, so you can tell how many calories you burn during a normal day
